Top 10 JoJo Songs (We Missed You Gurrrl!)

JoJo brought her A-game back when she was just 13. After 2 hit albums by the age of 15, you'd think that she'd start cranking out more and more amazing albums and gracing us with her talent over the years to come. Unfortunately her third studio album was delayed for about 8 years because of issues with her record label at the time. She released mixtapes and EP's to keep all of her fans satisfied with new material, but her third album didn't look like it would ever see the light of day!
She finally was released from her troubling label, signed with Atlantic, and got back in the studio to create the third album we've all been waiting for.
In honor of her Tringle Day (you know, being a boss ass bitch and releasing 3 singles at once), I decided to share what I find to be her top 10 songs in her collection.
10.) "Weak"
(from the album JoJo)
A little update on a classic SWV jam. To the point and ON point.
9.) "Sexy To Me"
Supposedly from her early recording sessions for her third album, this Danja-produced song is (dare I say it) sexy and fun and definitely not the same 13 year old we first met.
8.) "Like That"
(from the album The High Road)
It was never released as a single, but needless to say it's one of her most beautiful songs. A teenage slow jam about falling in love so hard and feeling ALL the feels. It grooves, it bumps, it just feels good to hear.
7.) "Anything"
(from the album The High Road)
Her last official single before her label woes began, it showcases a pretty genius sampling of "Africa" by Toto mixed with a little 2000's pop.
6.) "Too Little, Too Late"
(from the album The High Road)
"Leave (Get Out)" part 2, but a little older and a little wiser. Oh the struggles of teenage love...
5.) "Demonstrate"
Bringing the sex appeal head on, JoJo doesn't shy away from showing the world she's not a little girl anymore. She doesn't have to use the powerhouse vocals to get any point across. It's all in her falsetto that she's ready to get down.
4.) "Leave (Get Out)"
(from the album JoJo)
Her introduction to the world, a voice fit for an older, adult R&B singer in the body of a 13 year old girl. A great pop song that wasn't over produced and instead showcased some beautiful guitar. Just trying to show the world the struggle is real when it comes to junior high love.
3.) "In the Dark"
(from the mixtape Can't Take That Away From Me)
Her first attempt at getting music released while her third album was on hold, JoJo did what she could to start proving that she had matured even more. She graced us with this beautifully haunting song about adult love problems, the nonchalant ways we "love" as adults.
2.) "Marvin's Room (Can't Do a Better)"
One of her many covers that's not merely a cover but a well thought out female response to a Drake classic. No one can do it better than JoJo, and Drake seemed to agree.
1.) "Andre"
(from the mixtape Agápē)
In my opinion this is the most diverse and cool-sounding songs JoJo has put out there. A love song to the quirky character that is Andre 3000 of OutKast, admiring someone for their individuality and all the things that make them stand out from all the rest.
