2012 Golden Globes Nominations (Best Series, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor)

Best Series
Drama
American Horror Story
Boardwalk Empire
Breaking Bad
Game of Thrones
The Good Wife

Much like last year with the breakout hit The Walking Dead (and Boardwalk Empire as well), I expect to see them recognize this year’s hit American Horror Story. And since it was a big winner last year, Boardwalk Empire is bound to get another nomination. Breaking Bad is always a sure bet for getting nominated. As is the other breakout hit Game of Thrones. And don’t count out the solid The Good Wife.

Best Actor
Drama
Steve Buscemi – Boardwalk Empire
Bryan Cranston – Breaking Bad
Michael C. Hall – Dexter
Hugh Laurie – House
Timothy Olyphant – Justified
Last year’s winner Steve Buscemi will surely get nominated again this year. As will the usuals: Bryan Cranston, Michael C. Hall, and Hugh Laurie. But let’s not forget about the lost gem Timothy Olphant.

Musical or Comedy
Will Arnett – Up All Night
Alec Baldwin – 30 Rock
Steve Carell – The Office
Johnny Galecki – The Big Bang Theory
Jim Parsons – The Big Bang Theory
Will Arnett is another breakout star so far this season. Along with him, expect the usuals again: Alec Baldwin, Steve Carell, Johnny Galecki, and Jim Parsons.

Best Supporting Performance – Actor
Ty Burrell – Modern Family
Chris Colfer - Glee
Alan Cumming – The Good Wife
Peter Dinklage – Game of Thrones
Eric Stonestreet – Modern Family

Seeing as how he won the Emmy this year, Ty Burrell deserves a nomination here. As does last year’s Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer. Don’t count out the outstanding Alan Cumming. And seeing as how Peter Dinklage also won the Emmy this year, he should be getting a nomination too, as will last year’s Emmy winner Eric Stonestreet.
